REDIAM. WMS Lithological Map of Andalusia
Description
WMS Service corresponding to the Lithological Map prepared from the Atlas of Andalusia (volume II) by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Ministry of the Environment. Developed based on the Mining Geological Map 1:400,000, adjusted with satellite images, and revised with the national geological cartography of the Magna series at a scale of 1:50,000. It identifies the lithological units according to the intrinsic physical and chemical characteristics of the rocks, regardless of their chronological character. In this way, 41 continental lithological units have been individualized, grouped into four classes according to their genesis: volcanic, plutonic, metamorphic and sedimentary. On the other hand, according to the size of the grain and its consolidation and studies of marine geology, thirteen large classes of sediment formations and marine rocks have been represented.
