The geologically diverse subsoil also has a differentiated groundwater landscape. Groundwater is an important raw material than industrial water, as drinking and mineral water for the population. Groundwater poses immense problems for mining, whether as groundwater underground or as rising groundwater in mining areas. Drinking water extraction, wastewater management, shipping, mining, contaminated sites, land sealing, geothermal use, etc. need overarching overall concepts — enormous task for the future.
