Shipek Dredge Sampling Campaign INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0221
Description
The information contained in this data set corresponds to the samplings carried out with Shipek dredger during the INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0221 campaign, in the waters of the Levantine-Balearic demarcation. The results will be used for the analysis of granulometry, content of organic matter and carbonates and environmental DNA.
This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the points at which the sediment data were acquired.
The area comprising the data provided is located in waters around the Columbretes Islands. In total, 37 sampling stations were carried out with Shipek dredger between 40 and 100 meters deep, approximately.
This information is composed of a data set made up of point elements, where each point represents the situation of the sampling station where data were taken.
The preparation of this set of geographical information began in 2021, thanks to the oceanographic campaign INTEMARES-COLCARTO_0221.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
