Sick leave according to employees; regio
Description
This table provides data on sick leave of employees aged 15 to 75, by region (territory, province and RegioPlus labour market region). This also includes employees who are employed but do not perform work due to illness, maternity leave or other temporary career breaks. Furthermore, the table also includes data on the last absenteeism case of employees (this absenteeism case may have been more than 12 months ago), the type of complaints in the most recent work-related absenteeism case and the main reason for the complaints.
As of the reporting year 2022, the way in which data for the NEA were collected and processed differs in some respects from previous reporting years. As a result, the figures from 2022 may not be comparable in all cases with the figures up to 2021. More information is available in the NEA 2022 study description. See paragraph 4.

Changes as of 21 May 2024
Annual figures for 2022 have been added.
As of 1 September 2022, the RegioPlus-Arbeidsmarktregio Rijnstreek has changed its name: the new name is ‘Rijn Gouwe’. This name change has been put back in time in this table.
Changes as of 22 August 2023
The structure of a number of topics has been changed to better reflect the content:
- The topic ‘Most recent default complaint type’ has been renamed to ‘Most recent default complaint’.
- The topic ‘Reason for Work Complaints’ has been renamed to ‘Reason’, and within this topic the selection ‘Other factors’ has been renamed to ‘Other reasons’. Moreover, as the topic ‘Reason’ applies only to workers who have been absent from work, it has been placed in a new sub-folder.
- For the above topics and the underlying selections, two variations have been created in each case in the table, in order to distinguish between the situation before 2022 and the situation from 2022 onwards.
These changes do not affect the results in the table.

Figures for the previous year shall be published by May at the latest.
