The statistics Museums provides information about companies and institutions
The Netherlands providing the material testimonies of man and his environment
acquire and present.
It is not just companies and institutions whose
exploiting a museum is the main activity, but also museums that
secondary activity forms of a business or institution, (e.g.
part of a municipality, university or hospital).
This table gives figures on
— the number of museums;
— the opening position;
— nature of the collection;
— number of visits per year according to the method of entry payment;
— average entrance fees;
— organised exhibitions at home and abroad;
— benefits such as subsidies and contributions, entrance fees, proceeds
Museumkaart and NS-pass, sales items;
— burdens of, inter alia, personnel, housing, purchasing items and catering services,
depreciation, interest, exhibitions, insurance and maintenance
collection.
