Workers born abroad; well/non-resident, personal characteristics
Description
This table deals with jobs for foreign-born workers aged 18 to 75. These jobs are broken down by origin background of the employee, whether or not they are registered as residents in the population register, their gender, age, hourly pay class, contract type and industry.
For the employees who are registered as residents in the population register, when immigration to the Netherlands one must be at least 18 years old in order to be counted. Employees who are not registered as residents must have been at least 18 years old at the start of their stay in the Netherlands to be counted.
The variable ‘origin background’ is included as a background variable. Because the population of workers born abroad consists of both residents and non-residents, it is not possible for everyone to derive their origin background. Missing data in this area is imputed using information about the country where a person has his/her permanent residence and about a person’s nationality.
