Share of road users by sex and background characteristics, 1985-2007
Description
In this table you will find information about the traffic participation of persons per
region by gender, motive and personal characteristics (e.g. to
personal income, age or level of education).
The traffic participation of persons is expressed in two quantities:
— Participation rate: percentage of road users derived
from the proportion of persons moving at least one on the day of the survey
he made it. A journey is a journey or part of a journey.
traveled with one motive. In this case, a traffic participant is a person
who walks on the public road, as a pedestrian or as a user
(driver or passenger) of a means of transport.
— Share of public transport users: derived from the share
individuals who have at least one ride during the day of surveying with the

The mobility data for the years 1985-2003 were obtained from the
annual survey carried out by the Central Statistical Office (CBS)
Research Relocation Behavior (OVG). Since 2004, mobility data have been
from the Mobility Research Netherlands (MON) of Transport Service
and Shipping (DVS), part of the Ministry of Transport and
Water management.
Data available from: 1985.
Status of the figures
Figures based on OVG/MON are always final.
When are new figures coming?
This table was discontinued as of 20-03-2012 and continued as ‘Participants of road users; sex and personal characteristics’. See also paragraph 3.
