WMS service. Classification of the degree of urbanization of the Andalusian population in statistical mesh

WMS service of the classification of the degree of urbanization of the Andalusian population in statistical mesh in cells of 1kmx1km and 250mx250m prepared by the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia, is the first step to obtain information on the degree of urbanization (DEGURBA) of the territory of Andalusia. This is a regular mesh of 1km x 1km cells to which, based on the georeferencing of the Andalusian population carried out in the spatial distribution of the population for January 2020, the methodology described by EUROSTAT has been applied, to assign the typology of cells referred to level 1 and 2 of the degree of urbanisation, based on criteria of geographical contiguity, density and population thresholds, following the methodological manual ‘Applying the Degree of Urbanisation - 2021 edition’. The regular mesh of uniform cells of 250m side with population is also shown (following the INSPIRE directive) and aims to debug the previous mesh of 1kmx1km by removing from each cell of 1kmx1km those cells of 250m side integrated in the cell and that do not contain population according to the population mesh of the reference year. In addition, in order to analyze the evolution of population intensity and its degree of urbanization from a greater temporal perspective, level 1 of the degree of urbanization has been calculated for the year 2002.
