Suspected young people; gender, origin, training and recidivism, 2006-2014
Description
This table contains data on young people aged 12 to 25 who are suspected of committing a crime. Young people are distinguished according to registered and arrested suspects, gender, origin grouping, highest education and recidivism.
The table shows the number of suspects of crime per population group in absolute and relative figures. The relative figure is calculated per 10000 persons of the selected population. Personal data of persons who do not appear in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA) often lacks personal data. These individuals are counted in the absolute figures, but not in the relatives.
A person who has been registered or arrested more than once within a reporting year is counted only once in the total number of suspects.
Data on the suspects are available from 2006 to 2014. The highest level of education followed is available until 2013.
Status of the figures:
The figures up to 2013 are final. The figures for 2014 are provisional. In previous years, preliminary figures on arrested suspects have shown an underestimation of the final number. On average, the provisional number of arrested suspects is about 4 % lower than the final number. Preliminary figures on registered suspects are hardly different from the final number.
As a result of a change in the police registration system, no recidivism figures on registered suspects have been available for the time being from reporting year 2012.

None, the table has been discontinued. The data from which the figures on the highest level of education followed have been revised as from the 2014 reporting year. In the future, a table based on these resised data will follow.
