Wood removal routes in Saxony – Departure routes in the Landeswald
Description
The dataset covers the timber removal routes currently used in the course of the NavLog project since March 2007 in the Land Forest of the Free State of Saxony. Wood removal routes are transport and return routes that are used for harvesting wood. They are divided into the categories main departure path, departure route, secondary exit route and connecting route. Information on the road width, light space profile, incline, construction (binding agent-free, concrete, asphalt) and condition of the path surface (good, sufficient, bad) are provided for each wood removal path. In addition, the paths are classified in terms of their navigability in summer and winter, as well as by wet and frost periods. The NavLog project, as a joint project of the forestry and timber industry, aims to create a uniform navigational database across the entire network of forest holdings. The data is used in the exit route map, scale 1:25.000.
