Adoptions of 1957-2012; children born in the Netherlands and abroad
Description
The data in this table concern so-called ‘ordinary adoptions’ of Dutch and foreign children. The table includes both court adoptions and adoptions through the Hague Adoption Convention. If Dutch parents adopt a child from a country that is affiliated to the Hague Adoption Convention, the adoption is automatically and fully recognised without the intervention of a Dutch court. In all other cases, an adoption takes place through the Dutch court.
The numbers of adoption children in the table are distinguished by gender. Furthermore, a distinction is made between children born in the Netherlands and children born abroad.
Partner Ad Options (formerly Step Parent Adoptions) are not included in this table.
