The aim of the Mine Risk Prevention Plans (PPRM) is to ensure the safety of people and property in areas where mining has taken place. It is a tool for managing urbanisation in areas where mining hazards occur. The PPRMs make it possible to subject the works of works to planning rules and up to restrictions of use. Thus, at the end of a process of analysing the hazards and the present and future issues, each PPRM is prescribed by prefectural decree which defines the risks taken into account and the scope concerned. Once approved, a PPRM is a document enforceable against third parties in the same way as a PLU.
