Assessment of politics and democracy; 2006, 2010 and 2012
Description
This table contains the views requested from voters on politicians and politicians. The 2006 National Kiezers’ Survey asked for the opinion on government policy in the period 2003-2006 (Cabinet Balkenende II/III), in 2010 in the opinion on the policy conducted in 2006-2010 (Balkenende IV). In 2012 the opinion on government policy was asked in 2010-2012 (Rutte I).
Specifically, the following aspects were asked: the economic situation of the Netherlands; employment; personal financial situation; satisfaction with government policy in general; satisfaction with the functioning of democracy in the Netherlands and the European Union; political expectations; political self-confidence. In 2006 and 2010, the political cynicism of the electorate was questioned, not in 2012. In 2006 it was also asked whether there is a gap between voters and elected representatives in the Netherlands.
In the table his various background characteristics are distinguished, such as gender, age and voting behavior. Since 2010, the category D66 has been listed separately. In 2006, this category falls within the category of other political parties.
