Consultation zones of Seveso establishments in Flanders

Description

Seveso establishments are establishments with large quantities of dangerous substances on their premises which fall within the scope of the Seveso Directive on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances. The consultation zones indicate the maximum distances to which the effects of the Seveso facilities extend and within which (developments in) the environment can also have an impact on the Seveso facilities. Concretely, this is the zone from the border of the Seveso facility in which plans for spatial developments must be submitted to the External Security Team for advice. These consultation areas are updated monthly; the data for Environment Information Flanders (OIV) every quarter. In concrete terms, this means that the publication will take place every second week of January, March, June and September.
