Description
This table shows the number of first-year students at the higher education institutions funded by the government by type of education, discipline, origin grouping, generation and academic year. From the academic year 2015/'16, this table also contains the number of students enrolled at some designated institutions: the theological universities and the University of Humanistics. In previous years of study, these students were included in a separate StatLine table. For the most recent academic year – 2015/'16, information on study is not yet available. There has been a clustering of fields of study in several colleges, which means that the year-on-year comparison cannot be made up for. In the third quarter of 2016, a new table covering the fields of study will be drawn up from the academic year 2015/'16.

Status of the figures:
The figures for the academic years up to 2014/‘15 are final and those for the academic year 2015/’16 are provisional. As this table has been discontinued, the data will no longer be finalised.
