Soil protection forest and avalanche protection forest
Description
Includes legal soil protection forest according to ยง 30 LWALDG. Forests on sites at risk of erosion (e.g. slopes at risk of slipping, rocky or shallow steep slopes, sites prone to karstification and air sand soils) are protected as soil protection forests and must be managed particularly gently. Soil protection forest protects its location as well as neighboring areas from the effects of water and wind erosion, landslides, erosion, earth demolitions, ground creeps and rockfalls, excursions and humus loss, soil compaction and wetting.
A special form of soil protection forest is the avalanche protection forest. The avalanche protection forest is intended to prevent the emergence of snow movements of any kind such as snow creeps, snow slides, snow slides and avalanches from the forest, as well as to steer, brake and bring to a standstill above the forest border if possible.
