Prosperity of private households; key figures, origin
Description
This table contains figures on the distribution of the welfare of private households in the Netherlands, measured on the basis of income and wealth. The figures can be broken down by country of birth of the parents, and country of origin of the main costwinner.
The target population consists of all private households with income, as of 1 January of the reporting year.
In the target population for the topic of low-income households, student households and households with only part of the year’s income were excluded.
CBS has moved to a new classification of the population by origin. From now on, it is more decisive where a person was born, besides where one’s parents were born. The word migration background is no longer used. The main division Western/non-Western has been replaced by a division based on continents and common immigration countries. This classification is gradually introduced in tables and publications with population by origin.

Status of the figures:
The figures for 2011 to 2020 are final. The figures for 2021 are provisional.

When are new figures coming?
New figures will be published in the autumn of 2023.
