Relative area of bodies of water in the Capital Region

Description

A dataset is a raster level in which the attribute data is information about the relative surface area of water areas within an area of a certain size. For areas of different sizes, there are raster levels with a radius of 300 m, 500 m, 1000 m, 1500 m, 2000 m and 5000 m around each pixel. A value of 0 means that there are no waters at all, and a value of 1 means that the waters cover 100% of the area within the calculation area. The data was produced from the SLICES land use data of the National Land Survey of Finland. In the production of the data, sea areas, rivers and lakes have been defined as water areas. The spatial resolution of the material is 100 m x 100 m. The data was produced as part of the HERCULES project/consortium funded by the Academy of Finland's Climate Change and Health (CLIHE) research programme in 2020–2023.
