Urban Development Plan (StEP) Centres 2030

Description

The urban development plan centres (short: Step Centers) is the urban retail concept of Berlin. For more than 20 years, the StEP Centers have defined the goals for Berlin’s centre and retail development. In addition, the StEP — in conjunction with the land use plan (FNP) — defines the Berlin centre setting, i.e. the overall urban system of hierarchically structured district centres, district centres, main centres and center area cores. It also lays down urban planning governance principles for the establishment and expansion of retail projects.
