Registered thefts; region (2013 breakdown) 2005-2012
Description
This table contains results on thefts registered by the police. In addition to the absolute number of thefts, the table also includes the number of thefts per 1000 inhabitants in the municipality or region concerned. In addition, the table contains the number of thefts that have been clarified and the number of suspects registered in the crimes. The figures are broken down by municipality of committing, police region, type of theft, use of force and year of reporting.
It may happen that the municipality of committing within a region is not known. Unknown municipalities within the region are not listed separately, but are included in the total of the region.
When looking at the data, a number of points are important. The data per municipality is presented for all years according to the municipal classification of 1 January 2013. If CBS considers that the figures per 1000 inhabitants do not allow a responsible conclusion in the comparison between municipalities or regions, then the relevant cell is left empty. The crime is therefore too little and/or the municipality or region in question is too small in terms of population for a comparison between them.
In the period 2008-2009 the police regions switched to the registration system Basic Provision Enforcement (BVH). This transition may give rise to unexpected fluctuations in the data during this period.

The figures for the years 2005-2010 are final.
The figures for 2011 are more preliminary.
The figures for 2012 are provisional.
As this table has been discontinued, the 2011 and 2012 data are no longer finalised.
