Thermal conductivity for geothermal probe systems (probe reference depth 40 m)
Description
The available maps with point data on "thermal conductivity for geothermal probe systems" up to 30 kW power and probe lengths of 40 m, 60 m, 80 m or 100 m were prepared on the basis of the available drilling information in the drilling database Niedersachsen. The values shown are estimated thermal conductivity values based on values from VDI 4640, own measured values and values from the nationwide product catalogue for the economic application of near-surface geothermal data (Eds. Ad-Hoc AG Hydrogeologie, 2008).
The map shows average thermal conductivity for selected holes. When clicking on a borehole, an info box with the most important master data of the borehole opens. Thermal conductivity of individual layer units can be retrieved by clicking on the "further information" link.
For the planned location of a new geothermal probe, the values shown in the vicinity – provided that the subsurface structure is comparable – can provide an orientation as to what average thermal conductivity can be expected for a probe length of 40 m, 60 m, 80 m or 100 m.
The data are used for an initial assessment of possible thermal conductivity and do not replace the concrete check in the context of plant construction on the basis of the local conditions. Further information on the legal and technical basis can be found in the ‘Guide to geothermal energy use in Lower Saxony’ (GeoReports 24).
