Description

This table contains annual figures on the link of people to the labour market in the Netherlands. The population aged 15 to 75 (excluding the institutional population), and 15 to 65 years excluding school pupils, is divided into the working labour force and the non-working population. The working population is further classified according to whether they want to work more or not. The inactive population is further divided into the unemployed and the non-working population. The unemployed labour force is further classified according to the number of hours they would like to work. The non-working population is classified according to search and availability criteria. For the different classifications, a breakdown by gender, age, educational level and position in the household is available. Data available from: 2013 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Amendments as of 8 December 2023: The annual figures for 2022 have been added. Amendments as of 29 November 2022: None, this is a new table. This table has been compiled on the basis of the Occupational Population Survey (EBB). Due to changes in the EBB’s research design and questionnaire, the 2021 figures are not necessarily comparable to those up to 2020. The key figures in this table have therefore been made consistent with the (non-seasonally adjusted) figures in the Labour Participation table, seasonally adjusted key figures (see paragraph 4), recalculating the results for the period 2013-2020 in order to align with the results from 2021 onwards. In further detailing the results by job and personal characteristics, there may nevertheless be differences between 2020 and 2021 as a result of the new methodology. When will there be new figures? Each year, this table is supplemented by new figures.
