Climate and Immission Ecological Functions in Braunschweig
Description
Cities have a significantly changed local climate compared to the surrounding area. The causes are, among other things, the type and density of the buildings, the heat storage capacity of the buildings, the soil sealing, the lack of vegetation, the altered water balance and the increased emission of exhaust gases, aerosols and waste heat. The map shows the division of the urban area into climate-ecological sub-areas, the importance of open spaces and the hallway wind system.
