Description
All hospitalizations are entered as part of the Stationary Stays in Hospitals Survey (SpiGes). This survey, carried out by all hospitals and clinics, covers administrative data, socio-demographic information of patients, as well as diagnoses and treatments. To enter this information, two medical classifications are used. These are on the one hand the ICD-10-GM for diagnostics and on the other hand the Swiss Classification of Surgical Interventions (CHOP) for treatments. The coding of diagnostics and treatments is subject to precise guidelines. The field of medical classifications of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) drafts, revises and adapts these directives as necessary, takes care of the maintenance of the said classifications and the support of those responsible for coding. This version of ICD-10-GM 2024 is the 2024 adaptation of the French version ICD-10-GM 2022. The translation is based on the ICD-10-GM 2024 published by the Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte (BfArM) in Germany. The 2024 version of ICD-10-GM will enter into force in Switzerland on 1 January 2025. At the OFS, it is available in 2 languages (French and Italian) and in different formats (PDF, CSV, ClaML and printed version).
