Environmental costs of companies with 10 or more employees, SBI'93, 1997-2008
Description
This table describes the financial burden of a significant part of the
business as a result of taking care of the environment.
To reflect the real environmental burdens of industry
a distinction is made between the costs of own environmental activities
and the net environmental burdens.
The term ‘environment’ includes the living environment outside the business premises.
including the soil climate or the soil under that site. The environment
is divided into the environmental compartments (parts): water, air,
soil, waste, sound, nature and landscape and general.

There are no changes in the figures compared to the previous version.
When will there be new figures?
The publication in this form has been discontinued with the last year 2008. Reason
for this, there is a new classification of companies: the SBI'93 is
replaced by the SBI 2008 (see paragraph 2). As a result of this change, the
results are not exactly comparable to those of previous years. The
CBS has therefore chosen to start from the reporting year 2008
with a new table (see paragraph 3). By the way, the differences are
the results of this study are small. In both tables,
figures given for the 2008 overlap year.
This statistic runs from 1979 but is only on paper until 1996.
