Motor vehicle fleet active; population, type, region, 1 January
Description
This table contains data on the size of the active motor vehicle fleet by province (residential/establishment province of the owner of the vehicle), broken down by passenger cars and motorcycles (per 1000 inhabitants) and commercial vehicles (by type), excluding mopeds. The figures are based on information from the Basic Registration Vehicles (BRV) or better known as the registration registration of RDW. With the help of this registration, counts were made of ticked Dutch vehicles on 1 January, which were allowed to take part in traffic on public roads during the previous year.
Vehicles which have not been insured throughout the previous year and are therefore not allowed to drive are excluded. Also vehicles that are in stock on 1 January are not included.
