Waste water treatment at farms; operating class (SBI'93), 1993-2007
Description
CBS collects data within the framework of environmental statistics
on the treatment of urban waste water and on private
treatment of waste water of mainly industrial origin.
Urban or public waste water treatment involves the treatment of
waste water discharged into the sewer by households and businesses.
Private waste water treatment is about companies and institutions
which have their own treatment plant.
In the treatment plants, the waste water supplied
(influent) the contaminants removed by mechanical,
biological and/or physico-chemical purification techniques. The purified
waste water (effluent) is discharged into the surface water.
Wastewater treatment creates a residual product, the sewage sludge.
In sewage sludge from biological plants, the
organic substances are degraded even further (library fermentation). With this
biogas is released, which can be used for energy generation.
The sewage sludge is subsequently disposed of of the excess
water (dewatering). After that, the sludge can, depending on the quality,
be reused (for example for compost preparation) or become
eventually burned or burned.
This table presents the results of the annual survey
Wastewater treatment sludge from companies and institutions: the numbers and
design capacity of the waste water treatment plants of private
companies. In addition, the quantities and destination of the released
sewage sludge shown.

In this table the data from the tables 'Wastewater treatment at
companies and institutions; installations“and” Wastewater treatment at
companies and institutions; sewage sludge' joined together. The results
are broken down by operating class SBI'93.
The table has been discontinued due to the transition from the operating class classification
SBI'93 to SBI2008.
In 2007 new information was 1 company with a
waste water treatment plant added so that the total number
installations increased by 1. The total capacity for 2007 is not
changed because the added installation belongs to the type
mechanical installation and not intended for the removal of
biodegradable substances.
For the years 1996-2005 the SBI is typical of some companies.
corrected. Because of this shift, the figures on numbers are
installations, capacity and quantities of sewage sludge for the category
“D industry” increased by up to 0.6 % for most years. For 2002
the difference is a few percent. The figures for the category
‘Other, not industry’ has decreased by up to 5 % due to the shift,
except 2002 where the decrease is 11 % for the number of installations and 30 %
for the quantity of sewage sludge. For all subjects, the
national totals have not changed.
