Main natural habitats in Schleswig-Holstein

The map includes the demarcation of the four main natural areas of the country on the basis of sociological-geological criteria. The age of the near-surface deposits and the relief form the basis for this. The map has been developed from geological and soil survey maps and from relief data. It forms the basis for the regionalisation of soil assessment maps of the Geologsichen Dienst Schleswig-Holstein (LLUR-SH).
