This table provides information on the total amount of waste generated by industry, excluding waste water collection and treatment, waste collection, waste treatment and other waste management sectors.
The total amount of waste released is broken down by type of waste (= category of waste) and the method of processing or processing (re-use or final treatment). Landfilling and incineration of waste are the main forms of final treatment.
The table provides information for total Netherlands, by part of the country and by province.
Industrial waste is distinguished into hazardous and non-hazardous waste. This table only provides information on non-hazardous waste. A distinction is made between chemical and non-chemical waste. The non-chemical waste is further broken down.
In May 2002, the European Waste Regulation listing the European Waste List (EURAL) entered into force. With this, the Dutch Waste Code List has expired. The EURAL was used for the first time in 2004.
The 2004 figures per waste category are not necessarily comparable to the results of previous years. The Eural Code uses a different classification of the substance types than at the time the Dutch waste list.
For this reason, this table only shows figures from 2004 onwards. For a reference to tables of figures for the years for 2004: see paragraph 3.
