Quality of nature; assessment according to EU Directive; 2000-2006
Description
The European Union’s Habitats and Birds Directives aim to maintain and improve the quality of nature. They impose obligations on Member States of the European Union aimed at maintaining or restoring the favourable conservation status of species and natural habitats. The assessment of conservation status can therefore be considered as a measure of the quality of nature.
Every seven years, all countries of the European Union report on the conservation status of species and habitats. The table shows the Dutch situation for the period 2000-2006.
Each habitat or species shall be divided according to the conservation status assessment: favorable, moderately unfavourable or very unfavorable.
