Description

This table contains annual data on the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Netherlands. GDP is an important macroeconomic understanding. It means popularly what we all deserve in the Netherlands. The volume of GDP is the measure of economic growth in a country, in this case the region. The volume change of GDP is only available for the total economy per region. Volume changes aim to reflect the change in quantity and quality. The volume change for added value is available for all industries. As parts of the economic process, the National Accounts distinguish production, income distribution and financing. In the case of regional accounts, the emphasis is on the description of the production processes in the various regions. The data in this table are classified by the Standard Business Classification (SBI 2008) and by region. The regional division can be chosen from the different parts of the country (North, Eastern, West and Southern Netherlands), provinces and (disaggregated) COROP areas. Regional accounts are seamlessly aligned with the national accounts.By aligning the figures with the national accounts, they provide a coordinated description of the regional economy and are ideally suited for comparing the results of the various regions.
