Category 1 nature reserves displacement series of water shortages (2020)
Description
This historic 2020 version of the national dataset contains the category 1 nature reserves from the displacement series of water shortages. This card helped redistribute scarce water when water shortages occurred. The Water Act sets out how scarce water should be used. In a series of displacements, certain natural areas are given high priority in order to prevent irreparable damage caused by drought in these areas. Examples of damage are the sounding of peat, salinisation or the dying of vegetation.
