Extraction, import and export materials by type; NAT. accounts, 1996-2012
Description
This table contains data on all materials entering or leaving the Dutch economy through imports, exports and extraction. These include raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products. The import and export of materials are presented in kilos (physical) and euros (monetary). The table presented here is also called the material flow account.
The table is part of the environmental accounts. The environmental accounts quantify the relationship between the economy and the environment. In order to achieve a consistent statistical description of this relationship, the environmental accounts shall be consistent with the classifications and definitions of the national accounts. As a result, environmental figures from the environmental accounts differ in a number of cases from the environmental figures elsewhere on CBS website.
Data available from 1996 to 2012.
The table has been discontinued as of December 8, 2015. The reason for discontinuation is that figures on material flows have been calculated using a new method. The table is followed by the new tables Winning, importing and exporting materials by type; national Accounts and Extraction, Import and Export Materials by Continent; national accounts. See paragraph 3.
Status of the figures:
The figures from 1996 onwards are final. The most recent year is provisional.
