Environmental accounts; key figures 1995-2012
Description
This table of key figures from the environmental accounts and national accounts shows by industry the contributions to certain environmental aspects such as greenhouse effect, acidification, environmental costs and environmental taxes. In addition, some economic characteristics from the national accounts such as gross value added and labour volume have been included for comparison.
The environmental accounts describe the relationship between the Dutch economy and the environment. Because the environmental accounts are consistent with the concepts of national accounts, environmental developments can be compared directly with macroeconomic developments in the Netherlands.
Figures from environmental statistics are used for the environmental accounts. The main difference between environmental statistics and environmental accounts is that the environmental accounts and national accounts are based on the resident principle while environmental statistics use the Dutch territory as a basis.

Status of the figures:
Figures up to 2010 are final. The two most recent years still have a (further) provisional character. As this table has been discontinued, these figures are no longer finalised.
