The map shows how many brown rats were caught as bycatch per hour worked in 2018. The results are shown in 5x5 km of lofts, so-called hourly lofts.
Rats can carry pathogens that can make people sick (zoonoses).
Monitoring the spread of rats is important to assess public health risks.
In addition, monitoring control measures against rats can be evaluated.
