REDIAM. WMS HIC 1110 Sandbanks permanently covered by shallow seawater
Description
WMS service corresponding to marine sandy bottoms of the continental shelf and always submerged sandbanks, with a depth in the highest area less than 20 m. They can be bare bottoms or host meadows of phanerogams and algae, with Zostera marina and Cymodocea nodosa as main species. It is a habitat especially rich in fauna, mainly invertebrates and fish. When sandy sediments cover hard substrates, they are considered within this habitat type if the associated biomass depends on the sand and not on the underlying substrate.
