Virtual mineralogical collection

Description

The Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans (LMV) is a joint research unit of the Université Clermont-Auvergne (UCA), associated with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, UMR 6524), the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD, UMR 163). It is one of the two laboratories of the Clermont-Ferrand Globe Physics Observatory (OPGC). The LMV is also the Department of Earth Sciences Education of the UCA. The laboratory has a scientific collection of mineralogy dating from the late nineteenth century. On the one hand, it has more than 6000 mainly mineralogical samples, on the other hand, it is also composed of ores from most of the deposits of the Massif Central.
