Share of gardens by statistical sector outside the cores - 2016
Description
The increasing private use of the open space for private gardens is called the gardening of the open space. This is strongest where the open space fragments are located near habitation in residential areas or ribbon buildings, and where the open space fragments are enclosed by habitation (B. Tempels et al., 2012). The map shows the densities for gardens in Flanders and confirms that the concentration of gardens in the open space is greatest in expansion zones around cores.
