Study Area campaign INTEMARES-MLLCUEVAS_0321
Description
The information contained in this dataset is the whole of the area sampled during the working days of the departures INTEMARES-MLLCUEVAS_0321 carried out between 10 and 13 March 2021.
This is the representation of the spatial distribution of the total area in which the different types of sampling were carried out by the scientific personnel on board.
The area comprising the data provided covers a delimited area around the sampled caves located within the margins of the Menorca Canal SCI.
It is a data set composed of polygonal elements, where a polygon has been created that represents the approximate location of the caves in which the samplings linked to the monitoring of the state of the habitat were carried out.
Each object is associated with a series of alphanumeric variables such as the name of the campaign, the organism, the IP of the project, the region, the start and end dates of the campaign, the total area in square meters, the description of the layer and possible observations.
The production of this set of geographical information started in March 2021, thanks to the sea outings of INTEMARES-MLLCUEVAS_0321.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
These works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
