Map of the sulphate acid soils in Schleswig-Holstein on a scale of 1:250,000
Description
The map of sulphate acid soils shows the distribution frequency of sulphate acid soils in Schleswig-Holstein in a 5 step scale from very rare occurrence to widespread occurrence. The map is based on an evaluation of the soil overview map 1:250.000 of Schleswig-Holstein (BÜK250). The following steps have been taken: The soil societies listed in the BÜK250 have been assigned a probability of occurrence in stages with values from 0 to 5 depending on their soil type socialization and geological stratification. For level 5 areas, the proportion of sulphate acidic soils is particularly high (highly distributed), and for level 1 areas, the proportion is very low. The map distinguishes: - Very Rare Occurrence (Level 1) - Rare Occurrence (Level 2) - Minor Occurrence (Level 3) - Common Occurrence (Level 4) - Very Common Occurrence (Level 5). The biggest jump is between levels 3 and 4. While a regular occurrence of sulfate acidic soils cannot be expected for stage 3, the probability of encountering sulfate acidic soils at stage 4 is significantly increased.
