Moor Protection Programme Part II of 1986
Description
Part II of the Moor Protection Programme included the remaining 263 bogs of the lowland moorland as well as 148 small bogs in 1986 – in addition to the moors of the moor protection programme Part I. The backdrop thus includes moors predominantly without demolition-worthy sub-areas as well as – in addition to the MSP Part I – 5 other moors, which have significance as a peat deposit. Information is available on the sub-areas that are valuable for nature conservation from a national point of view outside the small bogs, differentiated according to the categories “natural and close to nature moor” as well as “degenerated or heavily altered moorland”. The small bogs are not recorded digitally.
