Boundaries of the framework operational plan areas

The framework operating plan (Section 52(2)(1) of the Federal Mining Act) defines the spatial, temporal and material framework within which the planning of a mining operation is carried out over a longer period of time. It requires approval by the LBGR. A distinction is made between optional framework operational plans and mandatory framework operational plans. A planning approval procedure is required for the approval of the latter.
