Description
The city of Hamburg is completely covered by quaternary sediments. The geological map "Prequartary Underground 1:50,000" shows the underground of Hamburg without the quaternary layer sequences. The thickness of the quaternary deposits of the various ice ages ranges from a few meters to over 450 meters in the Elsterian gullies. These are shown in the map "Quarter base 1:50.000".
The map "Prequartary subsurface 1:50,000" is available in digital form and is a product of the geological 3D structural model Hamburg.
