Germany - Dessau - Flood situation on 5 June 2013 - Area affected - P09

Description

Continued rainfall in recent days has led to heavy flooding in large parts of Germany. The local forces are supported by the Federal Police, the Bundeswehr and the Technische Hilfswerk. In Dessau, the apex of the flood was reached on Wednesday afternoon. The water surfaces shown in the map were derived from a scene of the RapidEye satellites with a spatial resolution of 5 meters, which was recorded on June 5, 2013 at 12:30 CET. The level at the time of recording was about 6 meters. RapidEye data with a spatial resolution of 5 meters serve as a background image. This product was created within the framework contract “ZKI-DE” between the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) and the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR).
