Description
This table shows the number of cattle on Dutch agricultural holdings
it’s all right. In addition to the total number of cattle, the distribution is also given
to dairy cattle, breeding cattle and meat cattle.
The size of the bovine herd shall be fixed at reference date from 2008 onwards
1 December, 1998-2007 was the last week of November and in the
years 1981-1997 at the beginning of January.
Data available from: January 1981 to December 2008.
Status of the figures: All figures are final.
When are new figures coming?
This table was discontinued in 2009 due to the appearance of a
new table cattle stack; April and December stand.
As a result of the change of method, it is no longer possible to
publish results with the same detail as for the previous years.
As of 2008, the figures on the number of cattle on Dutch
agricultural holdings based on the service’s earmark registration
Regulations of the Ministry of LNV. In the previous years, these
figures determined by means of a sample survey under
farms with cattle.
The sample survey had a day in the years 1998-2007 as reference date
in the last week of November; from 1981 to 1997 it was at the beginning of January.
The Regulatory Authority provides the data with the date of December 1st.
