Agriculture; economic size class, main business type, region, 2000-2009
Description
This table provides information on the number of farms in the Netherlands,
the utilised agricultural area used by these holdings and
economic size of companies.
This information is presented for several regional
levels, and for the various main business types and classes of
economic size of companies.
The data for this table come from the agricultural census. The
agricultural census is part of the combined task carried out by the
Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is used for
this includes the implementation of agricultural policy and the enforcement of
The Fertiliser Act.
In the agricultural census, a lower limit of 3 NGE is used. At
companies with less than 3 NGE should think of, for example, a company
with a maximum of 2 dairy cows or a maximum of 2 are green peppers.
