Agriculture; economic size class, type of business, 2000-2009
Description
This table provides information on the number of agricultural holdings in the Netherlands,
the utilised agricultural area used in these holdings and the
the economic size of the companies.
This information is presented for the total Netherlands and for the
various (main) farm types and classes of economic size of the
companies.
The data for this table come from the agricultural census. The
agriculture is part of the combined task, which is given by the
Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is used for
among other things, the implementation of the agricultural policy and the enforcement of the
Fertiliser Act.
In the agricultural census, a lower limit of 3 NGE is used. At
companies with less than 3 NGE should think of, for example, a company
with a maximum of 2 dairy cows or a maximum of 2 are green peppers.
Data available: 2000-2009.
Status of the figures: the figures are final.
