Environmental costs of agriculture, 1990-2007
Description
This table describes the costs of measures to combat environmental pollution from agriculture. Environmental costs include the farmer’s own costs and the transfers/taxes paid to third parties. The environmental costs largely consist of capital charges (interests and depreciation) of environmental investments.
The environmental investments are also reflected. The environmental costs are broken down by environmental compartment (part): water, air, soil, waste, noise and general. In addition to environmental costs, the subsidies received are mapped. By adding the levies paid to the environmental costs and deducting the subsidies received, the net environmental burdens are created.
Data available from 1990 to 2007.
