Study of the impact of human activity on the geomorphological processes of the cow trench in Gesäuse National Park using UAV data

Description

This paper deals with the recording of human activity and the change of a highly process-influenced area. The Kühgraben in the Gesäuse National Park in Styria, Austria, was chosen as a trench with episodic water flow and a high relief energy with associated high Morphodynamics. Data acquisition was carried out by UAV and aerial images were processed from four out of five taken flights using the SfM method. This thesis deals with the recording of human activity and the change of a highly influenced area. As an area, the cow trench in the Gesäuse National Park in Styria, Austria was chosen as a trench with episodic water flow and a high relief energy with associated high morphodynamics. Based on the results, it can be noted that the structural and engineering biological measures had and still have a significant impact on the processes of the cow trench. In addition, UAV data is very well suited to the analysis of altitude changes. In combination with the analysis of historical aerial images with lower geometric resolution and longer time intervals, only larger change data can be determined.
