The deceased; cause of death (4 main groups), region
Description
This table contains figures on deaths by underlying cause of death by region. The causes of death are divided into four main groups: novelties, diseases of the heart and vascular system, diseases of the respiratory system and external causes of death (non-natural causes of death). The figures are shown to the municipality of registration. The regions are made up of municipalities. In addition to municipalities, data from the following regions are available: province, part of the country and the whole of the Netherlands.
In the statistical year 2013, CBS switched to the use of international software for automatic coding of causes of death. This makes the figures more reproducible and internationally comparable. However, there are some major shifts in the causes of death.

Status of the figures:
The figures until 2021 are final.
Amendments as of 20 December 2022:
The final figures for 2021 have been added.
When will there be new figures?
The aim is to publish the preliminary figures for 2022 in the second quarter of 2023.
